Overview
The Tasks tool makes it easy for you to stay organized and keep your team's progress moving forward. Features such as editable task lists, task filtering, and a clean and simple layout gives you full visibility into whose doing what and what needs to get done.
Note: To use the Tasks tool you will need to have an IMPACT+ Pro account.
Navigating to the Tasks tool
The Tasks tool can be found in the Tools area of IMPACT+. To get to the Tasks tool follow the steps below.
Step 1: Log in to your IMPACT+ account.
Step 2: From the homepage, select the Tools link in either the main navigation or the the left-side navigation.
Step 3: From the Tools page, select the Tasks link in the left sidebar.
Getting started with the Tasks tool
Getting started with the Tasks tool is quick and easy. To start creating tasks for your team you need to have at least one task list created to house your tasks. Follow the steps below learn how to create tasks and task lists.
Creating Task lists
Task lists are used to group related tasks together to keep your team organized. To create a new list:
Step 1: To create a list select the New List button in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Step 2: Selecting the New List button will open up the editing panel. From within the editing panel, give your list a name (you'll be able to come back and edit this name at any time.)
Step 3: Select the Create List button.
Editing and Deleting Task Lists
To edit or delete an existing list:
Step 1: Select the list's name in the Tasks dashboard to open the editing panel.
Step 2: From within the editing panel you can update your list name to a new name or select Delete List to remove the list.
Note: Deleting a list will also delete all of the tasks associated with a list.
Creating Tasks
To create a new task:
Step 1: To create a task, select the New Task button in the upper right hand corner of the page to open the editing panel.
Step 2: From within the editing panel you can fill out all of the necessary information for your task. Start by giving your task a name.
Step 3: Choose which list you want your task to appear in. This helps keep your tasks organized and grouped with similar tasks.
Step 4: Select the team member you would like to assign the task to.
Step 5: Choose a due date.
Step 6: Include any additional information for the task in the description field.
Step 7: Select the Create Task button.
Editing and Deleting Tasks
To edit or delete an existing task:
Step 1: Select the More Details icon on the task you would like to update to open up the editing panel.
Step 2: From within the editing panel you can update your task's information or select Delete Task to remove the task.
Marking a Task as Complete
To mark a task as complete, simply select the checkbox in the done column. Marking a task as complete will notify the creator of the task that you have completed the task.
Note: Unless you are an admin, leader, coach, or facilitator you can only mark your own tasks and tasks assigned to you as complete.
Duplicating a Task
The Tasks tool makes it easy for you to duplicate a task. To duplicate a task:
Step 1: Hover over the task that you would like to duplicate. On the right side of the task you should see a duplicate icon appear.
Step 2: Select the duplicate icon to duplicate the task and open up the editing panel. You'll notice that all of the information from the original task has already been populated into the necessary fields.
Step 3: If needed, make any necessary changes to the task's details and select the Create Task button to create the task.
Filtering and Sorting Tasks
The Tasks tool makes it easy for you to filter and sort your tasks so you can find exactly what you're looking for. There are a few different ways to filter and sort through your tasks:
Filtering Tasks by Team Members
You can use the People filter to view all of the tasks assigned to a specific member of your team. The filter, is located in the left sidebar under the Filters section. Select the People filter and choose the team member you would like to filter by to see all of the tasks assigned to them.
Sorting Tasks
You're also able to sort your task lists by status, assignee, and due date. To sort your tasks simply select the column header you would like to sort by. You can choose to sort in an ascending or descending order.
Filtering Out Completed Tasks
There may times when you only want to view the tasks that haven't been completed yet. To filtered out all of the completed tasks in your dashboard select the Hide Completed filter in the upper right hand corner or a list.
Note: All filters are automatically reset when a page is reloaded
Task Notifications
To keep everyone on your team aligned, the Tasks tool will send your team notifications on the following actions:
